Feb/March Sketch Challenges

Welcome to another round of Sketch Challenges. This time around we have another set of challenges for your Cards and Layouts that should inspire and motive your creativity. Once again Anita has outdone herself with some wonderful Sketch Designs, and we hope you enjoy the challenge!

February/March Layout Sketch Challenge

First up we have some samples from the Creative Team girls, who would just like to share with you a little bit of their inspiration.

My True Love by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has used her Monthly Pack to produce this lovely layout of her dear hubby. I like how the brown houndstooth mixes so well with the pinks and creams, giving it a more masculine feel even though it has "pink & flowers!" I really love how this layout has come together, and I also noted that hubby only gave you TWO shots to get the photos.......

The handmade paper flowers and green leaves look great, and the green adds a nice contrast. The top and bottom of the paper ribbon looks great, especially with the uneven punching at the top.

An added touch of doodling around the border and outling the shapes adds definition, and the tangle flourishes also look very effective.

Lil' Monsters by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally also added some DM to the monster on the scallop tag, and is in LOVE with that new red scallop ribbon!!

Sally said "I put the cardstock on the floor and squeezed some drops of black ink from shoulder height so they would splatter a bit. I got a bit excited I think as the ink soaked through the paper and onto the floorboards in my studio. Just makes it look like a real 'artist' lives in there!"

The blobs looked a bit flat, so Sally gave them a good thick workout with Dimensional Magic.

February/March Card Sketch Challenge

And again, some inspiration from the Creative Team girls.

Card by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has coloured the stamped image with Copic Markers. Added was one of Claire's punched flowers, touched up with Dimensional Magic and a pearl bling, and some Basic Grey chipboard.

Claire has also done some faux stitching around the edge of the patterned paper, adding a spot of bling in the corners. the layered mounting of the papers and stamped image look great. A lovely card Claire, well done. And well done also to Anita and Sally for their wonderful Layout Sketches. We hope you are inspired to tackle these Sketches before close off on March 14th - Pumpkin Time!

February Blind CropVille

Hi Everyone, at this months BCV the girls were doing stamping, doodling, inking cutting and mounting. A bit of Dimensional Magic was added for a bit of shine, and a bit of bling. The girls layouts weren't far from the Master, all still with a bit of difference in the flowers. Add a couple of special photos and you have a beautiful layout. Also, I will be adding a coup0le of layouts later when I am emailed the images. Now lets see what everyone got up to.

Now, we are also sharing layouts from our Creative Team girls, who took part in the CT Cyber BCV. Although the girls were using their own Scrapville products, and not the class kit, we can see a real difference in the layouts. Very impressive girls, and thanks for playing. The Best Night by Sophie Cook

Sophie did this layout after her Year 6 Graduation, where she had the Best Night! She has tackled stitched bunting and handmade flowers, all glittered up. Well done Sophie.
Cousins by Roz Langridge

Roz has used an earlier Monthly Pack featuring these beautiful BoBunny Papers, and two gorgeous grandchildren! I love the colours in this pack, and Roz has used layering, border punching and some Dimensional Magic to highlight some of the features.

Also very impressive is the flowers Roz made in the Blind CropVille last month - haven't they come up a treat?! Well done Roz.

Monthly Pack Layouts

Be Mine Card by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has put together another lovely card with a beautiful mix of colour and texture. The paper ruffle at the top and bottom of the card is so effective, as is the stitching on the hearts. The sentiment tag blends in nicely in the centre. Just lovely Anita.

Layouts from the Monthly Pack

Hello Everyone, here are some more layouts and cards using the gorgeous BasicGrey Kissing Booth range from out February Monthly Pack..... I'm seeing that this range is a lot more versatile than first thought, with lots of different takes on the papers. I hope you are enjoying yours, and if you haven't picked one up yet, unfortunately there are only a couple left!

My Valentine by Deb Pulford (CT)

I love what Deb has done with this page, especially since it features a "Man"... I love the way the white cardstock is splashed with colour, and how the little bits of colour on the co-ordinating papers and shapes are worked in. Don't be discouraged with using this for boys/men - it can be done! Well done Deb.

Birthday Wishes by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has done a fine job with that glitter border, and used distressing and inking to add a little grunge. A little stamped sentiment and some bling in the flower centres finishes it off.

Very nice Claire, well done.

A Little Birdie Card by Heather Bensley

Heather whipped this card up at CropVille last week, and how quickly it came together! Those birds are just too cute, and the colour combination is a treat. A very nice card Heather, well done.

Be Mine by Anita Bownds (CT)

More goodness from this pack!! How gorgeous is Anita's card? Love the stitching and the paper frill behind the black heart, it looks fantastic. The little border and added bling are just enough. Well done Anita, and what a great way to make a few bucks at the front door on Valentine's Day as everyone is leaving......... and only 5c!!!!

More Creative Show & Tell

Hi Everyone, I have a few more creations to share with you all, although I must admit that this post should have been posted prior to the last day of the month! My apologies for the delay in getting the Pre-Pumpkin Monthly Pack Challenges up, but alas they did make it! So without further ado, let's check out what the girls have been up to.

Sketch Challenges

Swim by Pam Casey

Pam has put together a nice bright layout, using flowers, vines and leaves in the cluster and on the borders. The mix is lovely. The doily's soften the page andbalance all the whites. Very nice Pam, well done.

bff by Beth Metcalf

Beth has used pink and blue to dominate her layout over a muted background paper. The quilled flowers add a nice texture, and the colour mix makes them more interesting. The layered papers have been embossed, and the felt flourish border breaks up the colours. Beth has also used a simplified border cluster by creating a fanned flower, and adding a bit of bling. The bunting has also been represented by the quilled flowers and gingham ribbon. Well done Beth.

I also have a Show & Tell from Kylie gW, who wasn't able to get this one in for the recent ScrapBursts, but I loved it and asked to share it with you all. This one was for the Metals, and Kylie has also used lovely metallic flowers and a gold metallic pen (most creative!) to doodle her doily for a very interesting effect.

Kylie likes to work with a smaller page, and I always find her layouts interesting and creative.

This is giving you a better view of the doodling Kylie has done to form her doily.

This is where the three central frames meet, and Kylie has linked them all with the gold pattern. The chip shape has also come up nicely with a bit of metallic colouring. Well done Kylie, and thanks for sharing.

Mavis by Beth Metcalf

Today we are sharing a beautiful layout of Mavis, Beth's lovely Mum. Now Beth started out creating her layout for the sketch, but sort of lost sight of it and wandered off track a little, so she did another one, and I persuaded her to let me display this one! The fussy cut papers are all flocked in greys and blacks, just perfect for the photo. The cutouts have been layered and mounted, and the photo itself has been mounted on cardstock with some decorative cardstock strips. The tassles also add a nice touch.

In amongst the cutouts we have some lovely Prima Bling on stems. These add such an elegance to the layout. Thanks Beth, your layout is just beautiful.

Add Water and Enjoy by Heather Bensley

Here we have a layout from our former CT Member Heather, who has featured her almost one year old grandson, Noah. Taking a break from the Team after a very hectic few months, it's always nice to see what Heather comes up with for our Challenges. I'm loving the kite Heather has used for the banner, and how she has utilized the zigzag pattern in the papers.

Heather has made her clusters from the Sketch a bit more "kiddie friendly" by mounting up her cutouts of the cute little critters, and working her colours into the teals and blues for a boys page. The water drops add to the theme of the photo, and a hint of Glimmer Mist breaks up the white space ever so lightly.

The colours in the chip title look great, and a slight sanding on the edges softens them down a bit. The border clusters are most creative, again using the zigzag patterned paper. Thanks for playing Heather, beautiful page.

As we've been doing a bit of Show & Tell, we also have one from Heather to share. Whilst having a "5 minute Heather cuppa" this week, for about an hour or so......., we decided that we would still like to share this one from the last Sketch Challenge. Although it's past it's entry date I always think it's good to have a Show & Tell so that you can still get to see what everyone does with the challenges or packs, and so that we can still display the girls' layouts.

Just lovely Heather, the pearls, buttons and birds look great, the minimalist paper across the centre work in great with the solid and cutout circles. Thanks for letting me share your work.

February Monthly Pack

Hi Everyone, and welcome to February's Monthly Pack. This month's pack is Kissing Booth from BasicGrey. A bit of a mix this month, we have pinks and reds, birds, wispy flowers and bold flowers as well. I'm betting we're going to get a few different takes on this one!

Kissing Booth Monthly Pack by BasicGrey

In the main pack we have ribbed cardstock in Black and White, 5 x DSPPs, a 12x12 Alpha sticker sheet, a patch of lovely lace, 3 cute buttons, some matching bling, red/pink velvet ribbon and cream twill. Lots of goodness there!

Kissing Booth Booster Pack by BasicGrey

In the Booster we have an 12x12 element sticker sheet with all sorts of bits and pieces to compliment your pack, 2 x DSPPs, a bit of pink gimp and a chocolate brown piece of pom pom bobble and a 6x12 black glitter cardstock, just for a bit more bling! It all ties in nicely, and as usual there is plenty to play with!

Our first layout this month is from Claire, who features her very shy hubby..........

Not Quite a SuperModel by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Love the B&W photo sequence in this one, and the slight curling of the hearts.

This is a great way to use a frame to highlighting your favorite photo in a sequence or theme.

Claire has also used a lit bit of white Glimmer Mist on the background, and traced the letters onto the black glitter cardstock then cut around them leaving a fine edge, then inking the edges white. Well done Claire.

Remember by Deb Pulford (CT)

"We don't Remember days, we remember moments" is the full title of Deb's layout featuring Kloe. She has kept it simple to keep the focus on the photo, which has been layered up, using the lace behind for a bit more softness. Some fussy cutting and rolling is just enough to balance out. Well done Deb.

Fun by Anita Bownds (CT)

"We Love to Have Fun" is the full title of Anita's layout, and it certainly looks it! Lots of white space with a lot of fun & brightness drawing your eye into the photos. Pink paint was used to put splats into the background, adding a hint of colour. A bit of fussy cutting and the doily border was formed, along with the cutout of the gorgeous pink flower.

Anita made a little bow with the ribbon, doodled around the patterned strips, hearts and flower. A heart sticker, lace and brown trim were used to make the heart flower, along with the leaves.

Anita has used her Swiss Dots folder to Emboss the letters "XOXO" that were cut from the patterned paper, then used a Copic Multiliner to outline each one. The Fiskars Apron Lace border punch was used to put a decorative edge on the pink paper, breaking up the colours. Beautiful work Anita.

Love Birds by Sally Clark (CT)

I'm sensing a little nervousness amongst the Blind CropVille ladies as they look at this tree, but never fear ladies - if it's here it won't be there!! ....then again..... Sally never ceases to amaze me with her layouts, turning the simplest of designs into something stunning. Using the back of one of the patterned papers she has diligently drawn and fussy cut the leaf clusters, using a Copic Multiliner inside the edge of each one.

Gorgeous little tufts of grass have been created in the same way, with a Fiskars Border Punch & a touch of brown ink to decorate the edges. Foam mounting tape on the grasses, trunk and leaves add real dimension. The brown pom pom trim bordering two sides of the photo also add dimension, drawing the eye in.

Fussy cutting the little birds on the tree top, adding Dimensional Magic to give them and the pink hearts a bit more shine, then an odd dot of red bling is just about all you need to do. The tree top has really come up beautifully Sally.

The theme for this month's Blind CropVille was "Summertime", and as you can see we have a multitude of summery layouts. Fussy cutting, mounting up, layering, scoring, folding, a bit of journaling and there you have it!

A close up of the pinwheel flowers.

This shows the lovely bunting, which is mounted up, as are the word tags and border strip. A touch of ink better defines the lines at the edges.

Sharing More Sketches

Hi Everyone, today we have some more Sketches to share with you all. I hope you enjoy the creations completed by the Creative Team girls as much as I do.

For You Card by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has used a bit of Sassafrass Lass to make her Card. Her gorgeous image has been stamped and coloured by hand. An eyelet lace border punch edges the top and bottom of the image nicely, and the flower and button hold the sentiment.

Sally has co-ordinated the inside of the card with the border strip from her PP, and inked the edges. Thanks Sally.

High School Dayz by 'Zan Boyle

'Zan has used the Glimmer Mist Chalk ink to mist her background, using masks to the front. The border punched strips are layered, and the B&W photo distressed on the edges and mounted. The lovely half MS doileys, also misted with the chalk, look great. The brads and 3D stickers work well with the OA rubons to embellish up the school theme.

The text paper on the bunting is joined with bling and string to adorn the corner.

Year Nine Graduation by Roseanne Cook

This one just missed out on beating the Pumpkin, but I wanted to share it with you anyway. The colours work well, and I loved the Glimmer Mist on the Glitter Cardstock and masking the circles in the centre. The photo of Sophie is further highlighted by the nested flowers either side. Thanks Roseanne.

More Krafty Layouts

Hi Everyone, I have more Krafty Layouts from the January Fun Day Pack to share with you all. Just loving what everyone is doing with Fun Day, and very excited to see all these wonderful layouts coming in.

Hey Buddy by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has used a Fiskars Apron Lace border punch to shape the white cardstock, and doodled on the edges using a Copic Multiliner. The daisy flower was punched out of the Kraft PP's using a Fiskars Heidi Grace Medium Palm Punch, with an added bling to the centre. And isn't Buddy's colouring just gorgeous? He looks very comfortable perched up there!

Anita has also made the leaves from Kraft PP, and used a template to trace and cut the large daisy from another Kraft PP. The spattering of Paint in white and blue breaks up the black background. The cluster looks very effective, and the use of colour against the Kraft works well. Great page Anita.

1941 by Beth Metcalf

Beth has used a photo of her mother as a toddler as a focus for her layout, and such a beautiful photo too. This pack really lends itself to a variety of themes, suiting this layout perfectly, yet also worked against Anita's bright contrasts above they give off a different effect. I think Beth's use of a heritage theme has worked well, with the burnt tag and text paper, crumpled and folded, just enough. A bit of bling in the black lace trim and the bright red paper rose are also a nice touch.

Well done girls, so excited to see what else comes in!

More January Pack Creations

The January My Minds Eye pack has been fantastic, the girls are getting so much out of it. I hope you all are being inspired to get into some serious creating with this one. I have some more to share with you today, so be sure to leave the girls a comment - they LOVE comments...

Congratulations by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has made this beautiful card using a Fiskars Lace border punch, BasicGrey stamp and Papercraft sentiment stamp. Complimented with the pack by stamping onto the MME Kraft give it a natural feel, and the bow sitting on the border strip softens it even more. I think this card looks stunning. Well done Anita.

My Boy by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb has turned a simple design into a stunning layout. How easy is it to usilize all those extra little bits and pieces from your pack to create a layout like this? Adding a bit of dimension by mounting up the pinwheels once backed onto black cardstock has tied them into the theme of the circles, which are also backed with black cardstock. The multi photo strip sitting on the strip of black punched cardstock looks really nice, and a nice touch to a boys layout. A little doodling in white onto the cardstock title is also another way to get a bit more mileage out of your diecut letters. Well done Deb.

CT Sketches for Jan/Feb

How are you going with those Sketches? Today we are sharing some more Sketches from the girls to give your inspiration a little boost. I hope you are enjoying the challenge as much as I am enjoying seeing all these wonderful layouts and cards. There's plenty of time to get on board, so come on girls......

Dylan by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has used a very boyish range from Prima to complete her layout. A border of light inking and baker's twine stitching brings in the colours from the PP's. Scallop punches and scallop border punches tie these papers in together.

The bunting uses the woodgrain paper, which Sally has then tied together with the Jillibean Bakers Twine.

Here we can see better the mounting of the journal tag and scallop border, which is also layered. Well done Sally.

Bloom by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

How many of us can remember this day? My oh my - they were SO little! Claire has done this little girl proud with Crate Paper and Echo park layered PP's, Webster's and Imaginisce embellies, a MM brass dragonfly punchies. A great combination.

Using a Twiddlybits flourish and layering some flower punchies with a bling or button in the centre is a nice corner adornment for the photo.

An interesting take on the bunting is the floral kind; punchies, ribbons and trims, some pearls and you end up with a very fresh floral bunting.

The border embellies include this fine little metal dragonfly by Making Memories, a doily cut in half and a strip of PP for a ribbon. Another inspirational layout Claire, well done.

Make a Wish by Anita Bownds (CT)

It's great to see just how much the girls are getting out of their Monthly Packs. Anita has used a stamped cutout of the castle, handmade leaves behind the crocheted flower and some cut outs from the text paper which blend in with the white doily. The border punched strips add a nice layer, well done Anita.

Card by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has tried a bit of stamping onto black cardstock, then coloured the petals. The colours help define each area in this card, and the flower and pink border strip really make it pop.

Here we can see better the white and yellow colouring on the flowers. Well done Claire.

Sport's Day by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has used most of the January Monthly Pack to do her Sketch, and isn't it just stunning?! A great combination of the papers, lace and layering. The handmade doilys have come up a treat too.

Detail of the beautiful bunting, layering of the text paper, border punchouts and punched flowers. A bit of bling, some string, stamping, DM and a spattering of black paint finish it off.

Model Material by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb has used a photo of Kloe, a friend's daughter, and what a stunning photo - that teenage distant look.... I love the colours in this layout, they really compliment the white space and focus on the photo, which is what we want. The Japanese papers in the border cutouts and along the photo blend in well, as do the hand made flowers and butterfly punchies. Gorgeous Deb, well done.

I will share more of the girls beautiful work shortly, and hope you will leave the girls lots of comments about their work as they continue to inspire your creative world.

Sitting Pretty by Gillian Hume

I like the black & white theme Gillian. Your flowers and bling give it a burst of colour, drawing the eye to the black & white photo. A nice balance of colours in the middle circles as well. Well done, and thanks for sharing.

Life Moments Card by Roseanne Cook

Roseanne has used a lovely mix of pink, red and green on her sketch card. She has used stamping, and added to these by giving them a bit of clear dimenstion with DM. Well done, and thanks for sharing.

Love of Cars by Roz Langridge

Roz has put together a eclectic collage of the Kraft papers, using double prints of the same photo to emphasise the story. Handmade flowers from the text paper, lightly inked, also add to the theme. The black cardstock cutouts add to the floral cluster.

Here we can see the lovely lace trim border and the cutouts, along with the handmade flowers.

Cousins by 'Zan Boyle.

'Zan has used her pack to do another layout, this time of her siblings and cousins at a very young age. The background paper and the pinwheels certainly tie in with the theme of this era, and the remember tag is telling the story. The text paper is torn and lightly inked, and layered on a bit of Kraft. The already has an appropriate definition which adds to the story.

Books & Movies by Angie Wenke

Angie has used her monthly pack to complete this month's Sketch Challenge. Punched out dictionary flowers and embossed circles add to the texture of the page. The little bows show both sides of the satin ribbon, and the lovely black lace trim adds to the top edge of the black layer.

A closer look at the dictionary flower, paper rose cluster, lace and bling. Well done Angie, a great start to your first challenge.

Water by Roz Langridge

Ros has used bright colours with her sketch to tie in with the colours in the photos. A very fun and colourful layout, and obviously little Jess was making the most of the water play!

'Zan has combined pinks and reds on her Card Sketch, which combine well together.Mounting up the sentiment and flower adds dimension.

Hi Everyone, you would be greatly mistaken if you thought we were not going to give returning CT Member Sally a mention as well! Perhaps we need to throw in a few wobbly questions for Sally so that you can find out something you didn't know! Check out this little questionnaire, and please join me in welcoming Sally Clark and her creativeness back to the Creative Team for 2012.

Name: SALLY CLARK

I live: in Finley, a small farming town in the NSW Southern Riverina.

I have been scrapbooking and card making for:

…as long as I can remember. I used to glue all my birthday cards into large paper scrapbooks when I was about 5 and my mum recently gave me a card I had made for her when I was about the same age!!! Mum gave me my first wood mounted stamp about 22 years ago when she returned from a trip to USA…that was the beginning of serious cardmaking. I started scrapbooking when I was a demonstrator for a party plan company and had to use the products we sold, and that was about 12 years ago.

How would you describe your style, and how has it changed since you started scrapping?

I don’t know that I have a style. I like so many different ‘styles’ and I just play with what works for the photos I am working with.

What are your favourite techniques?

Inking! I would be totally LOST without my inkpads. Hand sewing and stamping.

My favorite tools are:

1…Silent Setter

2…Cricut

3…Piercing tool & mat

4…Paper trimmer

5…Craft knife

My tip for new Scrappers/Card Makers…attend classes, crops and retreats to learn and be inspired by the atmosphere around you. Don’t rush out and buy the latest and greatest of everything…start simple and build up as you go.

My most memorable quick fix for a page gone terribly wrong is…can’t remember! They must have been so bad I have erased all memory from my mind. When I do something I am not happy with I either start again or put it aside and come back to it later…much later!!! Cardmaking is much more forgiving than scrapbooking…I usually just stick another piece of card or paper over the offending area or add more ink. Ink hides a multitude of sins!!!

Retreats: each year I attend 1 Retreat with… SCRAPVILLE!!!!!!

Last year was the BEST retreat I have ever attended…beautiful setting, relaxed atmosphere and a great bunch of girls!

I am excited to be a part of the Team at Scrapville because: …it makes me extend myself and try things I wouldn’t necessarily try or use.

I have been published in: …Stamping & Papercraft.

I have taught classes: …at Starfish Lane, Bellbird Stamps and Papercraft, Spotlight, Scrapbookit and SCRAPVILLE!!! As well as numerous community groups. I also trained consultants how to teach classes for a party plan company.

Krafty Layouts to share

Hi Everyone, here are some more of our January Monthly Pack layouts to share with you all. I'm loving how everyone is using the Kraft kit.

Family by Jenny Seal

Jenny has used her Title and Tag to tell the story of her photo on this layout. Using a label maker to journal, and a bit of Dimension Magic on the little girl has worked really well, as does the layered satin ribbon, black lace trim and punched cardstock.

The MS loopy punch and a scattering of bling dress up the page further. The crocheted flower and paper roses add more dimension. Well done Jenny.

Mr Kush by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has used a Fiskars border punch on the black cardstock strips to dress it up. The Kraft papers have been stitched with the sewing machine to enhance them a bit more. A mini pinking border punch was used to make the Kraft leaves. A Copic Multiliner was used to draw the border around the page, and a little bit of black paint flicked onto the background, giving it a splash of colour.

The rolled flower becomes the main focal point beneath the photo, made with the Kraft patterned paper. Some cardstock flourishes, satin bow and bling finish it off. Now all you need is that Cat's Life!!

Play by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has grunged up this layout a bit by stamping all over the white background with black. The Kraft has been distressed on the edges, rolled and inked with distress inks.

This bit has worked so well. Sally has drawn a star, then torn out the star and distressed the edges a bit more. A cutout of the little boy image has been inserted behind this.

The cutout stars were taken from behind the photos, and used to mask an inked pattern on the Kraft.

These stars were then flipped over and inked, then raised up with DSFM tape..... and there's Bling too!! Well done Sally, love the effect of the inked background and torn star. Keep them coming girls, there are prizes to be won!

Hi Everyone, today we are sharing some more Sketch Challenge creations.

Mud Pies by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has lightly distressed and inked some of the edges on the patterned paper and spattered paint over it ,using a toothbrush. A MS circle cutter was used for all the circles, and a MS border punch for the drips. And what a great photo!

Friendship Card by Debi Clark

This is Debi's take on the Card Sketch. A nice colour combination on this one, with the stitched ribbon and ruffled flower adding a bit more dimension.

Lovely colours Debi, and nice combination with the solid circles and the patterned papers. I really like how you've worked this one with the added stitching and layering.

I have been scrapbooking and/or card making for: Scrapping about 9 years, it all started after my second daughter was born when I was invited by a friend to go to a scrapbooking class - I absolutely loved it! I have been card making for 2 years.

The type of style I like is: Shabby Chic, Sophisticated with a twist and Artsy.

The colours I love to work with are: I think it all depends on the mood Im in at the time, but mostly blue, green, pink, purple and a splash of black.

The products I love to work with are: Flowers, Stamps, Mists, Ink, Punches and Paint.

My favorite patterned papers are: Basic Grey,My Minds Eye, Fancy Pants and Prima.

I people I love to scrap most are: My 3 beautiful girls and my animals, and my hubby - not that he like his photo taken lol!!

I scrap at: in my craft room at home, with my music as it gives me inspiration.
Retreats: it's sad to say that I have never been on a retreat, but I'm sure one day I will get to go to one.

I live: in Hornsby, NSW

I have been scrapbooking and/or card making for: Just over 5 years. A friend used to teach card making classes and when she showed me her craft room I was hooked. I then did a scrapbooking class with another friend and soon became addicted after my first son was born. I have always loved beautiful patterned papers but never knew what to do with them until I started scrapping

The type of style I like is: Clean and simple. I don’t tend to put a lot of embellishments on my pages because I like the focal point to be the photographs.

The colours I love to work with are: Lots of bright colours, in particular red and yellow – they seem to suit 3 and 5 year old boys! I especially like bright colours against a white background.

The products I love to work with are: Anything and everything! Through my addiction I have probably accumulated something from just about every manufacturer! I love altering chipboard and making my own embellishments from patterned paper, layering and fussy cutting.

My favorite patterned papers are: I admit I’m a complete My Minds Eye tragic – anyone who reads my blog will know this! I also love Crate Paper, Basic Grey, Echo Park, Imaginisce, Cosmo Cricket, Studio Calico...the list is endless

The people I love to scrap most are: My two boys and my nephew, Sam, who is in the UK. However, I have just become an auntie to a beautiful little girl called Carys. Unfortunately she lives in the US so I have to rely on my brother in law to send lots of pictures. Hopefully I’ll be scrapping a bit more pink soon! I have got better at scrapping myself – someone pointed out to me how important it is that we scrap ourselves so that our children can read about us when they are older. I think it’s good for them to know that their mother has a life that isn’t just all about them!

I scrap at: The kitchen bench top. My hubbie has just finished building our kitchen from scratch and put in an island bench especially for me to scrap at. Now I’m trying to persuade him he needs to build an entire room!

I attend 1 Retreat each year in Sydney. I have been for the last 3 years but probably won’t be able to make it this year unfortunately.

I have been published in: Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbook Magazine (UK), Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft, Scrapbooking Creations, Australian Scrapbooking Ideas and online in Scrapstreet and Scrapbook News and Review.

I am excited to be a Guest on the Scrapville Creative Team because: I love to share ideas and see how other people interpret challenges. It always amazes me what people come up with when using different products.

Claire has created a card for the Sketch Challenge using some of her Monthly Pack, and some Crate Paper.

XOX Card by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire used a heart die to cut the various hearts, and then layered the dictionary paper and Crate Paper with some double-sided foam mounting tape. A scattering of bling adds a nice sparkle, and several layers frame the borders nicely.

The pink strip of patterned paper has been embossed, and then sanded so that the pattern is more defined.

I Live: In Devonport, on the North West Coast of Tassie :)

I have been scrapping: For about 8 years, initially starting out after holding a scrapbooking party.

The type of style I like is: My style is often very simple, uncluttered but layered with distressing.

The colours I love to work with are: Mainly masculine colours; blues, brown, greens etc. But I have been known to add a hint of pink!

The products I love to work with are: I am a sketch fanatic, love patterned papers, mists, inks, chipboard and alphas, and Kraft cardstock.

My favourite patterned papers are: Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, BoBunny - in fact most double sided papers.

The people I love to scrap most are: my family - husband and 2 teenage boys.

I scrap at: my desk at home in my scrap room.

I have never attended a Retreat, but it is on my "to do" list!

Still Sketchy

Well we're on the downward run to Pumpkin Time with our Sketch Challenges now, having passed the halfway mark. Keep them coming, we are seeing some fantastic work. And don't forget, you can rotate or flip the Sketches to suit your creations, but the Sketch must be recognizable. We have a couple more here from the Creative Team girls, who are keeping very busy at the moment.

Summer by Anita Bowlan (CT)

Anita has used a floral patterned paper for her background, and tied this in with the doiley, title thickers and punched borders. The cutouts and layers on the flowers and leaves add a nice dimension to the layout, and Anita has also used some stitching on the circles, adding to their definition. The central photo is further emphasized by the doiley border, and the great colours.

For You card by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has used her eyelet punch to decorate the right edge. A layer of coloured paper has been put behind the holes to tie in the colour theme. The circle has been layered and tied off with a sewn button in the centre. A small sentiment stamp and inked edges finish it off.

January Monthly Pack Layouts

Hi Everyone, today we are sharing some more layouts from the January My Minds Eye Pack. The girls have all been busy playing with their goodies, so let's check out what they've done!

Festive by 'Zan Boyle

'Zan has used her Monthly Pack for a Christmas layout, with plenty of "festivities" in the photos! The black lace trim has been used to create an outer flower beneath the black crocheted flower, and this has been topped with a paper rose - light inked to blend in.

An embossing folder has been used for added texture, and this has been lightly inked for more definition. Some added bling, a pop up punched flower topped with a paper rose and a couple of strips of doublesided ribbon finish it off. Well done 'Zan.

Easter Funfair by Claire Apostoloff (CT)
"Out for Publication"

Claire has used her Monthly Pack to celebrate the Easter Show, and it's come up a treat!

"I was lucky enough to have the word 'fairground' on the dictionary paper, and used a scrap of red to bring it out so that it showed up better."

A decorative MS border punch was used to break up the ticket layer, which has been cut unevenly at the bottom and layered onto black to tie in all the colours.

Our little fellow here has been touched up with Copic Markers, and Claire has journalled her story on this.

The dictionary paper cutouts make a great background once mounted on black cardstock and highlighted with a smattering of paint. Claire has also "snuck" a bit of ephemera on there from the Easter Show.

Dream by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb has brought a bit of white space into this layout of Sameul. It's a nice contrast to the Kraft and works in so well with her design. All the edges are distressed and inked with Pinecone.

The dictionary flower has been inked with Pinecone to add a bit of grungy-ness, and the bunting also has been edged with the Pinecone. Walnut Stain was added to the Rosette for colour..

The MS Modern Garland Edge Punch has been used to create the Kraft border beneath the title. The dictionary circles, as well as the dictionary block behind the title, are also inked with Pinecone.

Happy Birthday card by Claire Aposotoloff (CT)

Claire used a Martha Stewart punch for a border, then sprayed an embossing folder with some red Glimmer Mist and ran it through the embossing machine. It was then matted on black to make it pop. A red paper rose centres the black crocheted flower, and a simple "Happy Birthday" stamp completes the card.

The butterflies were punched into the black cardstock then overlayed onto the dictionary paper. The lace trim was layered beneath this, then layered again onto a MS border punched strip, as described above.

Butterfly Card by Claire Aposotoloff (CT)

This is the same card as above, and Claire has used another punched and embossed border strip, decorated with a gorgeous little butterfly punch. This card without the sentiment stamp becomes a very versatile card.

For You card by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb used her scraps to put her card together. Kindy GLitz was used on the black flowers for sparkle, the the MS border punch to edge the top layer. A strip of the doublesided ribbon separates the papers.

MORE SKETCHES TO SHARE

Hi Everyone, well it's good to see a bit of scrapping going on during the holidays! I hope everyone is finally able to kick back now that Christmas and New Year are behind us for another year. With the Dec/Jan Sketch Challenges still having a bit of time to go until the Pumpkin strikes, I have some more creations to share with you all.

Fun with Shampoo by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb's layout really is bright and fun, utilizing the round photos into the bath scene is a great idea to represent bubble - or even shampoo bubbles! The torn edges define the layers and break the colours. Great colour combination and fantastic bath hair! Well done Deb.

Friends card by Anita Bownds

Anita's card has one of the gorgeous little Woodland Folk stamped and coloured on the front circle panel. To add a bit of depth she has fussy cut nad mounted the little leaf and his little foot. These guys are so cute! Layers of patterned paper, distressed edges, border punched strips, some string and some bling bring the colours together really well. The little Friends sentiment finishes it off. Very nice Anita.

My Minds Eye - Fun Day

For the first Monthly Pack this year we are running with a Kraft pack from MME. A heavier cardstock with a rustic addition of black and a touch of cream makes for an interesting combination. I can't wait to see what everyone will come up with using this pack.

JANUARY MONTHLY PACK

Here we have some lovely bits to compliment this rustic pack, including your standard mix of black and white cardstock, 4 doublesided kraft patterned papers, black chip thickers, a vintage journal card, black lace trim, gold/black doubleface satin ribbon, a black crocheted flower and a sheet of dictionary paper.

JANUARY MONTHLY BOOSTER

In the Booster you can expect 2 doublesided kraft patterned papers, a sheet of cream cardstock, paper roses and a mixture of bling to add to the mix.

Now, if you weren't quite sure what to do with it then check out what the first two of our Creative Team girls have been up to.

Memories by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has shown us how versatile we can make a pack, by using a Black & White wedding photo. Simple yet elegant.

Here Sally has used paper piercing to make decorative flourishes in the corners. The paper rose has been lightly inked with Distress Inks to fit in with the theme.

The flowers have been made using a scallop punch, layering each one. Adding a curl to the ends and a bit of Distress Ink adds a bit of age. The paper rose has been layered onto the scallop punch out, and again onto the crocheted flower.

A close looks shows the photo being layered onto the dictionary paper and mounted up. The lace trim is nicely embellished with just a touch of elegance by adding the bling. The double face satin ribbon blends in nicely above the trim, and being so versatile with the option to flip it over as Sally has done to drop below the flower.

Who would have thought you'd use a wedding photo with these papers - well done Sally.

Smile by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb has used a Broken China Distress Ink to grunge up her distressed edges a bit more. A layer of embossed strips using the Clockworks folder, with a smearing of the Distress Ink, has lifted and blends in with the blue in Samuel's top. A scallop circle punch was used to make the dictionary paper flower behind the crocheted black flower, which was then inked with the Broken China and scrunched up a bit to add dimension. A nice little zig zag brings in a bit of bling, and the doublesided ribbon blends in nicely with the papers.

This is a closer look at the effect you can get by using your distress inks to touch up your distressed edges, and also by smearing across an embossed paper, such as the Clockworks. Well done Deb.

Hi Everyone, we hope that the coming year brings much peace and happiness to all. May you and yours find contentment in life's creativity in 2012.

To see the new year in at Scrapville, we are very fortunate to be able to introduce the latest additions to our Creative Team for the first 6 months of this year. As we welcome our new Team, we must however thank the girls who will be stepping down. A huge thank you to Heather, Sam, Michelle and Sarah for all your beautiful inspiration and creativity. I have no doubt you have guided many to venture forth and create as you have done. Your time on the Team has been very much appreciated, and we thank you and look forward to seeing more of your work on the Blog.

We would also like to thank all those that applied for the position, and congratulate those that have been successful in being selected in this instance. We are excited to introduce a Team of talented ladies, with masses of experience between them, to inspire and awaken your creativity for the next six months.

Without further ado I would like to introduce the New Creative Team:

CT Sketch Layout

Hi Everyone, here we are sharing another Sketch layout, this time from Sally. Her Sketch layout is from our Dec/Jan Challenge.

Cruising in Style by Sally Clark (CT)

Half your luck Dylan, cruising the States in a limo is pretty awesome. I really do love these colours together, and also the use of the circles, eyelets, buttons, bling and layering.

Sally's title has been made using blocked and mounted squares with sticker alphas, outlined in a darker colour for more effect.

Here we get a better look at how Sally has layered the bottom border, adding eyelets and scattered sticky bling, pearls and brads.

Sally has used lots of colour for her take on the sketch, and yet the middle section of white space looks so effective as well. The use of different shapes and layering really grabs the eye. Well done Sally.

Hi Everyone, just sharing the last of the Sketch Challenges. This one did beat the pumpkin, but alas Blogger has been a bit naughty of late...

Love to Scrapbook by Jennie Seal

Jennie has really brightened up this layout with colour and texture, separating the handmade flowers and embossed paper from the glittered flowers, whilst tying in the floral theme with her love of Scrapbooking.

Next up is a layout that Heather did for the 4th ScrapBurst - Embossed Paper.

Our Little Super Star by Heather Bensley (CT)

Definitely did not beat the pumpkin, but we are sharing just the same. Heather has used a bit of sewing on her layout to outline the borders, and a nice row of buttons helps to add a bit of texture and dimension.

The embossing is lightly sanded and inked for a bit more definition. These colours work so well together, and go with Noah's little top just nicely!

November Sketch Challenges

Me by Roseanne Cook

This layout is part of a calendar Roseanne is making, so I was pleased to see her scrapping herself! Something some of us struggle with a bit. The stamping & embossing was made more interesting by using bleach to fade out the colour, and the flowers and butterflies were stamped, fussycut and embossed, as well as a punchy or two! Title compliments of Janet!

Yes I know.... one looks pink and one looks purple. Once again technology has failed me, and I it! Go figure.. What I can tell you, is that this looks awesome IRL. A good dose of Glimmer Mist onto ghost alphas for a mask, a tedious workout with the fussy cutting and a good amount of layering - perfect!

And if you really want to know what colour this glitter cardstock actually is say hello when you stop in at Scrapville to check it out..............

Oliver Sykes Drop Dead by Beth M

This layout was created using our recent Jenni Bowland Monthly Pack, and when Beth recently completed it and thought she would Show & Tell it, it was swiftly confiscated! I love seeing what the girls do with their packs, even if they didn't get it in in time to enter the Challenges. More fussy cutting and layering, some lace, bling and an effective use of the black chip shape.

And for those a tad curious, I find Google and excellent means of researching interesting titles - not that I didn't know who he is.............. well maybe.

November Monthly Pack Winner

Time to announce the winners of the Little Black Dress Pack from BasicGrey. Another great pack for older style layouts, and a great reason to scrap the black and whites! Whilst heritage is certainly well suited, you will find this pack can lend itself to many styles of scrapping. As we can see from this layout, putting together a heritage style layout using the pack contents has worked very well. The hand made material flowers look great, and the cut out flowers, inked and covered with Dimensional Magic, have also come up a treat.

It's so nice to see everyone getting so much out of their Monthly Packs. Having already completed 2 layouts with this pack Zan has come up with another one. Perfect for putting together her heritage layouts of those hard to scrap photos from days gone by. I hope you are all enjoying your packs and getting lots done as well.

Heather has put her layout together this month using the lovely embellishments in the booster pack. Containing a number of buttons and brads in co-ordinating colours and differing sizes, they make it so easy to add that little bit more. Heather has also used her beaded and Gimp trims, and very creatively put together a flower using the material from the main pack.

A closer look at the spray of buttons and the handmade flower, inked to add a distressed look.

Here we can see where Heather has used her machine stitching around the borders of the patterned papers, and used border punches to add further interest.

The distressed cardstock edging, the torn border punch at the top of the outside frame and the Gimp trim add to the theme of the papers. Very nice Heather.

There are still a few Monthly Packs in store, and the Challenge ends on 30th November if you would like to take part. Happy Scrapping girls!

NOVEMBER BLIND CROPVILLE

Hi Everyone, well we have now completed the final Blind CropVille for 2011! What a great year it has been with some fantastic classes, great techniques, and a bit of a different spin on some old ones! Working with Sally to come up with something different each month has been a pleasure, and I can only hope that more people will get to experience a BCV for themselves next year.

This time round we touched on embossing, paper piercing, a little munch with a punch, inking, creating a hidden pocket for a journaling tag, and some permanent inking on embossed acrylic letters. I don't have all the images to display, which is a shame as the difference in the lettering was quite stunning from one to the next. All the layouts look great and I'm sure the girls came away with something new to try at home.

Here is the Master Layout that Sally started with.

This one gives you a peek at the embossing on the cutout, inked to add more definition to the piercings.

And here we can see the embossing on the acrylic alphas, which are then stitched onto the page.

And this is where the hidden journalling tag has been "munched" in behind the photo!

Well done girls, great layouts and another great class from Sally. I can hardly wait until 2012 to see what we have in store there! Thanks to everyone who took part in this years BCV's, and I hope you enjoyed them.

Here we have some layouts from our November "Little Black Dress" Monthly Pack. Picturing lots of tulle. lace, net stockings and sheer LBD's is what this pack is all about. I love the look of these papers and can't wait to see what everyone is doing with them. First up though, we have..

Generation Apart by 'Zan Boyle

A nice bit of fussy cutting along the bottom layer, with some Dimensional Magic to add a bit of shine and depth. Torn edges, layered flowers from the Cricut, a bit of shine on the alphabet stickers, a bit of punching, a few buttons and some black lace add a nice touch.

Just to give you an idea of how much you can get out of Scrapville's Monthly Packs, 'Zan is on a roll and has already finished another layout - awesome! (..... and her dad really does look like Fred Astaire!)

A little more detail here on the fussy cutting on the lace paper, with some real lace trim, DM and another workout on the Cricut. Well done 'Zan, it really is great seeing all your old photo's coming out too. They work so well with this range.

Scrapville Creative Team Call
As we are approaching the 2 year mark of Scrapville's Wodonga shop-front store, we feel the time is right to put the Call out, and welcome some wonderful new Scrapbooking talent to our Creative Team for 2012. If you believe you could be the designer we are looking for, then please read on further. The following criteria will need to be met each month in consideration of your application.

You will be required to:
Complete 2 layouts & 1 card per month (with a 2 week overlap).
Have an active blog where you will post layouts/cards and link back to the Scrapville Blog.
Be interactive in leaving Blog comments for Challenge entries.
Assist the Creative Team in choosing Challenge winners for each separate challenge, as specified.

In Recognition:
Designers are listed on the Scrapville Blog with a profile photo, and a link back to your own Blog.
Designers will receive product on a monthly basis to use in support of current Scrapville Challenges.
You will be given a designer blinkie to display on your Blog.
You will be given a Creative Team discount on purchases at Scrapville.

Term:
Designers will be asked to commit to a six month term commencing 1st January 2012 through to 30th June 2012.

How To Apply:

Applications will close at 5pm on Friday, 2nd December 2011.

Big Hugs by Sally Clark (CT)

ScrapBurst #4 Embossed Paper - 1/3

A bit of an eclectic patchwork. Lots of different folders have been used to emboss the papers, and then each piece was wiped over the top with the same blue ink pad to accentuate the embossing. And isn't Sully just gorgeous, soft and cuddly - and very blue!

A few little embellishments were also added, a red button, bling brads, little bling gems...

...and a flower.

We hope you are inspired by Sally's wonderful Embossed Creation, and look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.

NOVEMBER SCRAPBURSTS!

Yes, we're doing it again girls - ScrapBursts!!
For the month of November we are going to be running with 4 ScrapBursts, so dig deep and get into that stash, pop into Scrapville and top up your supplies, and lets find that mojo to get your creativity flowing. You will have until 30th November to complete your challenges.
Only one layout will be accepted for each ScrapBurst.
There will be a Prize Pack up for grabs in each ScrapBurst.
Winners will be selected by the Creative Team, and announced on 2nd December.

NOVEMBER SCRAPBURSTS

#1 - METALS

This layout is to incorporate Metals - this can be embellishments, metal foil, charms - as long as there is a healthly balance on the page you'll be ok.

#2 - STITCHING

Ah Ha - and it can be by hand or machine, as long as we have at least 25% of stitching used on your layout, which is more than just the border girls, so get creative!

#3 - NUMBERS

Ok, following the list you will need to have ALL of the following incorporated into your layout:

1 x bling shape/pattern/word
2 x photos

3 x frames
4 x patterned papers
5 x brads

#4 - EMBOSSED PAPER

This layout is to incorporate Embossed Papers, whether you add them or emboss your own. Your layout must include at least 1/3 of EMBOSSED paper/s.

There we have it, your 4 ScrapBursts for November. The Creative Team girls have been busy as well working on samples to inspire you with your challenges. Below are a taste of the first few that I'd like to share with you.

Key to my Heart by Sally Clark (CT)

SB #1 Metals

Sally has used a metal bookplate, key charm, photo holders, heart brad and silver brads. Sally has used the cut out frame to tie in the punched background hearts that were scattered over the page and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

A closer look at the brads bordering the heart frame. Added also is the stamped words and flourishes.

The brass bookplate with it's stamped images, held in place with brass brads.

My New Sewing Machine by Sally Clark (CT)

SB #2 Stitching

...I think we've covered the 25% bit, don't you? I can see all the Blind CropVille girls looking at this having a Pink Fit!! The question is, should they be scared???

Hand and machine stitching here, with a bit of metal bling and buttons. This one is also telling the Blind CropVille girls to "Wing It"........ well that's what I saw!

Sally has also used a few decorative picks, and the standard issue sewing pin on her layout, with the entire page bordering the photo of her snazzy new machine.

A sample of the decorative stitching easily adapted for borders. Nice work Sally.

Dylan and Goofy by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has worked on bringing out the reds in this layout, using the pastel greens to compliment a layered photo background. The buttons and bunting set a nice balance, and I would just love to see the now 6'2" Dylan siding up beside Goody for a contrast snap!!

Who doesn't love a bit of bunting? Simply ink the edges, pierce holes in the corner and thread with twine/string/cotton.

These buttons are so easy to dress up using chip shapes, covering with your patterned papers, a splash of Dimensional Magic, and a little stitching...

Derby General Store by 'Zan Boyle

This photo sits so well on this page with it's mix of patterns and borders. The hand made flower and mounted butterflies add a nice soft feel to it.

KCF Lovin' Pelican by 'Zan Boyle

'Zan has used some hand written strip journaling to tell her story about this page. Working with the red background also, 'Zan has made the frame her focus, with co-ordinating strips of patterned paper, layered flowers and a touch of stamping. KFC should be happy, looks like he opted for take away....

Hi Everyone, just sharing some more October/November Sketch Challenges. Still plenty of time before the pumpkin strikes on November 14th......

Crazy Boy by Sally Clark (CT)

I love how this has all come together, the star theme, the colours and the scalloped border on the photos.

Sal has also added star brads onto the top of the stars before mounting them up, with the mini alphas telling the story.

The Jillibean Soup alphas look great stuck onto cardstock then trimmed up. The colour ties in nicely with the photos too.

Sofala by 'Zan Boyle

Every picture really does tell a story when it comes to 'Zan's layouts. You not only see and learn a bit more about this wonderful country of ours as 'Zan and husband Steve relive the journey, but you see it through the eyes of someone else. The buttons, lace and sparkly webbing add a bit of a country feel, and tie in the neutral colour theme.

More October Layouts

Hi Everyone, well there's been some busy people out there working away on their Monthly Challenge Packs. It really is good to see how much everyone is getting out of their packs each month, resulting in at least two layouts finished each month, not counting the extra cards as well. Well done girls, and keep an eye out for what else they have come up with!

Summer Lovin' by Sam Epps (CT)

Sam has used a bit of punching on her layout, with patterned paper circles and a punched doily. Several of the circles have been hand stitched on the outside to bring more interest.

Here we can see the depth in the striped bunting, the stitching and the doily. The green flowers have also been layered, with a light sprinkle of butterflies! Well done Sam.

My Three Boys by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has used an effective journaling method to border her layout. The colour works in complimenting the red frame and hearts, and the border tells a story in itself.

How nice does this border look by simply cutting the flowers in half? Nice work Sal. Also love the look of the Tiny Red Alpha's from AdornIt.

A few more alphas and some nice gold threaded ribbon finish it off. Well done girls for your wonderful creativity.

Cottage Garden by 'Zan Boyle

Here we can see all the detail of 'Zan's layering, with the added effect of some Dimensional Magic.

There are lots of fussy cutting bits and pieces in this pack, as well as the sticker sheet, and these are great for making cards. I'll be sharing more with you shortly.

OCTOBER BLIND CROPVILLE

Hi Everyone, welcome to the BCV post for October. This month the girls got to experience what the Cricut and i-Top can produce, as well as a bit more hands on distressing, but mainly with inks! The colour combination may have thrown a few at first, but as always the end result prevailed for a beautiful layout class. The girls were shown how to get a few more miles out of using embossed papers with distress inks, and what a great technique this is for all your vintage/heritage pages. There are a few packs available for anyone interested in doing the class, just drop Janet a line or call into the shop.

This is one of the embossed images that has been inked with the distress ink.

Here we have the brad covered with the embossed & inked paper, an embossed doiley, inked in blue, the Cricut shape blinged up, and a touch of paper distressing on the edges.

You have until the 14th November at Pumpkin Time to see them completed and sent in. You Challenge must resemble the Sketch and it's elements, and the Sketch itself can be turned or flipped to give you more scope.

Sally's Close Shave...

Hello everyone, well it's time for a bit of an update without the scrapping. For some time now we have been telling you all about one of our Creative Team members and her desire to help the leukemia foundation's fundraising efforts by participating in the Worlds Greatest Shave.

Originally we were going to do this at RetreatVille, but like most well laid plans it wasn't to be. A little more jigging and planning and guess what? - she had it in the hat!

Sally has put her hair on the chopping block to help raise funds for this very worthy cause. With raffles and street stalls, plant sales, auctions and on-line donations Sally has been able to exceed her expected thresh-hold by raising an amazing total of just under $6000.00. Not only has she been able to contribute such a generous figure, but she is also donating her hair to a wigmaker who will make sure it goes towards providing a much needed boost for some special little people.

What a mammoth effort, and how fortunate were my family and I to be there to watch these lovely long locks get the chop. I would like to share a few photos from the day, and congratulate Sally for her selfless, and very generous efforts. Apologize I must, however, as I looked high and I looked low but do you think I could find a knitted tea cozy for the occasion?? Our little woolen beanie would have to do....

1.Final draws for the raffle and an auction to "see" who will run with the clippers...

2. But first, lets get the hair up, with the help of sister Bethy. Note the sheer panic on Sally's face as Beth says: "Hey look Sal, isn't that Chopper Reid?"...

3. Ohhhhhhhh, how nice and long has Sally's hair grown!

4. Congratulations went to the nice Blind Man with the scissors as he is assisted to remove the plait.................... ok, he's not Blind, but he is very nice!

5. "The hair or the money......."

6. It seems Sally doesn't want to let either go, but quite frankly I'd be more worried about the Kenworth bloke Driving the Clippers!

7. "How's he going?" she's asked.... Can you see the hand - so so I think it says.

8. You'd be laughing too if you thought there weren't any blades in the clippers....

9. Whilst Sally enjoyed the moment, the very moved crowd continued to fill the tea cozy replacement with financial abundance - until the hair was all gone!

10. Through gritted teeth Sally advised her new friend that she would not require the $5 magic potion that would make her hair grow in a colourful and mysterious way.

11. The giver of the Beanie come replacement tea cozy.

12. A well deserved smooch for an amazing effort.

Congratulations Sally, you have made us all proud with your wonderful efforts to spread some love in the world of those needing it so much. XXXX
